An Abundance of Caution - Poem

 AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION

(Copyright 2020 by Dave Kiffer)

Now is not the time for short sitz baths
Or to save water showering with a friend
We will worry about the coming drought later
We are learning what our introverted cousins
Have preached for decades, that distance
Is a good thing, socially, or otherwise
Even at the red-baited height of ‘duck and cover’
We would never have envisioned swaddling ourselves
For safety, in rolls of squeezeably soft Charmin
