Sager, Herhaege elected

SKAGWAY - Denise Sager and Jasen Herhaege easily won election to two three-year seats on the School Board, Kilipaki Harris finished third. In the borough assembly race, Reba Hylton and Sam Bass easily finished on top, Turnout was 29 percent. THE SKAGWAY NEWS 
 
Olerud tops Hill for Mayor

HAINES - The borough will have a new mayor, with Doug Olerud defeated long-time incumbent Jan Hill. Caitie Kirby, Cheryl D. Stickler and Jerry Lapp secured seats on the borough assembly. The results for the final assembly seat were too close to call between Brenda Josephson, Carol Tuynman and Helen Alten until the absentee ballots are counted.  Turnout was estimated at more than 50 percent. Election was all mail in

JUNEAU - More than 11,000 votes were received in Juneau's first all-mail in municipal election. The unofficial results show Maria Gladziszewski Alicia Hughes-Skandijs  and Christine Woll being elected to the borough assembly. Brian Holst and Martin Stepetin St. were re-elected to the school board. Turnout was approximately 40 percent. THE JUNEAU EMPIRE 
 
Prysunka was unopposed for Mayor
WRANGELL – Incumbent Mayor Steve Prysunka ran unopposed and was relected.  Ryan Howe and Anne Morrison were elected to the borough assembly. Laura Ballou was elected to the school board. Turnout was 24 percent. THE WRANGELL SENTINEL 
 
Kensinger on Assembly

PETERSBURG – Dave Kensinger was elected to one seat on the borough assembly. The race for the other seat was too close to call between Jeff Meucci and Brandi Thynes. Katie Holmlund was easily reelected to the school board. Turnout was 34 percent. 
 
Eisenbeisz new Sitka Mayor

SITKA -Steve Eisenbeisz defeated incumbent Mayor Gary Paxton by nearly 500 votes. Crystal Duncan and Rebecca Himschoot were elected to the borough assembly and Andrew Hamws and Blossom Twitchell were elected to the school board.  Turnout was 46 percent. KCAW-FM 
 
Fish tax approved

ANGOON- Incumbent Mayor Joshua Bowen appears to have been reelected. Harriet Silva was elected to the city council. A tax of $10 per box of commercially caught fish was approved. KCAW-FM 
 
Breakwater bond fails

CRAIG -Julie McDonald and Millie Schoonover have been elected to the city council. Voters turned down a $4.4 million bond proposition that would have funded breakwaters for a downtown waterfront moorage. KRBD-FM 
 
 
Seven elected to Council

PORT ALEXANDER - Laura Pollard, Ryan Martin, Thomas Corso, Sarah Patrick, Debra Gifford, Cory Gifford and Kevin Mulligan were all elected to the city council. KCAW-FM 
 
Council incumbent loses

KLAWOCK  -Irving Langmaid beat incumbent Rudolph Smith for a seat on the city council. Ruby Smith ran unopposed for a seat on the school board. KRBD-FM 
 
Four tabbed for Council.

TENAKEE SPRINGS - Dan Kennedy, Rudy Ziel, Linnea Lospenoso-Chatel, and Nikita Chase were elected to the city council. KCAW-FM 
 
Council races too close to call

THORNE BAY - Three seat on the city council are still to close to call until absentee votes are tallied. Gregory Kerkof leads Thom Cunningham. Kim Redmond leads Jon Stram and Robert Hartwell leads Deann Minnillo. KRBD-FM 
 
Kake elects 3

KAKE - Paul Rostad and Henrich Kadake Sr. appear to have won two available seats on the city council. Adam Davis was easily elected to the school board. KCAW-FM 
 
Nix on Council and School Board

HYDABURG - Margaret Peele, Leroy Edenshaw and Marvell Nix were all elected to the city council. Nix was also elected to the school board, along Natasha Peele and David Nix. KRBD - FM 

Pelican choose 4
 
PELICAN - Derek Stewart and Celeste Walker were leading in the races for two open city council seats, while James Slater and Jessica Adams were leading for seats on the school board. KCAW-FM
