BURNING BRIDGES - Poem

BURNING BRIDGES

Some say you should never burn a bridge

Because it is important to have options

And different directions to go

If your path is blocked.

But that is not entirely true

Sometimes the burning bridge

Is what you need to leave

The mistakes in your past behind.

When you cross the burning bridge

The heat on your back drives you forward

It is okay that the bridge behind you is gone

The only bridge that matters is the one ahead.
