LIKE SNOW IN A RAINFOREST - Poem

LIKE SNOW IN A RAINFOREST

(Copyright 2014, by Dave Kiffer)

She savors her deepest pain

A bitter herb sipped lovingly

Like a new fat free desert

Devoid of a bogus sugar

Nightly she wraps herself

In a faithful hair shirt

Her nose seeking the smell

A dog breathing its own breath

She listens to the heart ache

An incessant Chopin minor

Endlessly circling, notes ebbing

Like snow in a rainforest

Yet, her unhappiness can't last,

Like happiness, its edges dull

Its beauty flattens, and turns to

The buttermilk song of whatever
