IN THE COUNSEL OF THE WICKED ONES - Poem

IN THE COUNSEL

OF THE WICKED ONES

(Copyright 2017, by Dave Kiffer)

And yet, I seem to have

Usually, been happy

In the presence

Of the drinkers,

The carousers.

The tellers of jokes

And bawdy stories,

The gossipers

And panderers,

And others

Of the wicked ilk

So I guess

I will have to pass

For now, on the

Righteous ilk,

As much as I

Would like

Their eternal Fruit,

I must look

To the trees

That are planted

By freer flowing

Rivers.
