Pay to park
PETERSBURG - It now costs money to park at the James A. Johnson Airport. The first hour is free, but it is a dollar an hour afterwards. To park for six days or less it will cost $7 per day and anything over six days will cost $5 a day. THE PETERSBURG PILOT
New dock agreement reached
SKAGWAY - The borough and the state have signed an agreement for a new multi-use ferry dock. The proposed dock will also be able handle some of the summer visitor industry traffic. The old dock was built in 1978, sank in 2014 and was refloated but needs replacement. THE SKAGWAY NEWS
Lodge expands
SMITHERS - The Hudson Bay Lodge has received permission from the city to build a $3.5 million expansion. The hotel will add a pool, waterslide, hot tub, spa and a fitness center. THE SMITHERS INTERIOR NEWS
Two groups get bequests
JUNEAU -Diane Hunsbedt's great joy was walking her dogs on the local trails in Juneau. So, when she passed away recently, she left large bequests to Juneau Animal Rescue and Trail Mix Inc. She asked that the amounts not be disclosed but both groups said the bequests were "significant." THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Fisherman banned for 18 months
TERRACE - A local commercial salmon fisherman has been fined $88,000 and banned from fishing for 18 months. Gary Stoner pled guilty to overfishing his king salmon quota, retaining prohibited fish and failing to follow other fishing rules. THE TERRACE STANDARD

Post office hours shrink further

Fire damages trailer

City logger turns profit
TERRACE - Demand for timber has been good for the city-owned logging company, Terrace Community Forest. Company officials say 2021 will show a $1 million profit, which will go into the city coffers. THE TERRACE STANDARD
Teacher honored

JUNEAU - Christopher Koch, the music director of the Ozarks Lyric Opera in Springfield, Missouri, is the new music director of the Juneau Symphony. Koch said that he had been encouraged to seek the job by the former director of the Juneau Symphony, Kirby Pickett. Pickett is now the director of the Springfield Symphony. THE JUNEAU EMPIRE
Music fest to return
